The "Grand" is for the Grand in Grand Lake and Grand County, Colorado.

This site is being brought to you by Scott Ready of Mountain Lake Properties
in Grand Lake, Colorado, USA. I do the field work and photography for
www.MountainLake.com. Grandexp is a Grand Experiment to help people
go further in experiencing the world's wonders.

Along side with Grandexp, we are creating an open chalkboard for Colorado
enthusiasts to schedule Grand Expeditions (with or without a grand expenditure).
This chalkboard is a community bulletin board, for visitors, residents and business
owners in Grand County, Colorado. It is officially a Google Group called Grand Lake.

GRAND LAKE

Fast moving real-time issues concerning Grand Lake and events can be discussed
at this Google Group. There is an open mike for you to express your Grand Expectations
for Grand Lake's long term future, look and feel.

The Grand Lake Google Group is a bulletin board for people to coordinate
their hopes and plans to have a Grand Experience in Grand County. It is not
just for mountaineers. It includes water sports, winter recreation, crafts,
fine dining, theatre, dance, exercise, geocaching, astronomy, hunting, fishing,
picnicking, barbecuing, dude ranching ..... anything you want! Think of it as an
interactive concierge for setting up Grand Experiences.

More permanent topics will be presented here at www.Grandexp.com There is linkage
from here to the Scenery and Weather pages at www.MountainLake.com This site,
along with our SrceenSaver is designed to whet your appetite for Colorado's alpine
treasures. Like a Grand Expo, Grandexp showcases Grand County.

Coloradans work hard and play hard. When the great outdoors beckons, they
act fast and efficiently. If you see a half-day opening up, you might go
snowmobiling (in the winter) or boating (in the summer). You can double your
pleasure by posting on the bulletin board your starting time and place, so that you
can share your window of opportunity. There is safety in numbers, especially
if you want to plan something that spans a full day or longer. In the Wilderness,
the phrase, "two is company, three is a crowd" does not apply. If there is a mishap,
one person can keep you company while a third seeks help. The main danger is that
life might race by you before you can have the Grand Experiences for which you
are fit to enjoy. If you really want something, you have to put it in your calendar.
Making a public posting of your Grand Expectations can help to make them happen.
The bulletin board has also a "Town Politics" zone for you to post your long term
hopes and worries concerning the Grand Lake community.

Grand County is a big place, over a million acres. Most of it is remote and unreachable
by motor vehicle. One goal of Grandexp is to help people see more and experience
more of Grand County. After you have been there and back, you can recount your trip
on the bulletin board and let others in on your Grand Explorations. It is where you
scrapbookers and Grand Expositors can spin your yarns about your Grand Expeditions
and Exploits.

Soon we will all be Grand Experts, if not Grand Experimenters. Photography
buffs can work on their Grand Exposures; seekers of higher power can look for
Grand Exponents.
